The theme of the August Family Program was refuge. The family program explored the experience of finding refuge in ourselves, our community, and the natural world.
The children played Bodhisattva tag, in which when someone gets tagged by
Mara, others come to free them.
They then built little refuges in the woods for
various animal species.
At the end, children & parents came together in the temple to discuss how we are
all are both protected by and help protect each other.
