Family Program - July 11th
Family Program - July 11th
This month the children made "mind jars" - jars with slow moving glitter.
The shaken jars symbolized an agitated or angry mind and they watched the glitter slowly settle to the bottom symbolizing a quieted mind.

Thanks to all participants and the family program "staff" for helping make the Family Program possible.

Jukai 2015
JUKAI 2015 at Shao Shan Temple
On Sunday July 5th, 2015, Raven Bruce made the commitment of becoming a formal student of Shao Shan Temple. She received the 16 precepts, her Buddhist name and has become Taihaku’s student.
Sharon Dube and Hiroko Wilson received the first five Bodhisattva precepts and have made their commitment to
a Buddhist way of life.
This
ceremony was an occasion for the families and friends of those receiving the
precepts and Sangha members to join together in support of the commitment that
Raven, Sharon and Hiroko are entering.
With gratitude to all who joined in this spirit of renewal of our own commitments and intentions
which support a life beneficial for all.
