Peace Day & Autumn Equinox
On September 21st, Shao Shan Temple had a ceremony commemorating International Peace Day and the Autumn Equinox.
An intimate group gathered for chanting at the peace pole garden and for the "Ryakufusatsu" - an ancient purification ceremony that we perform at Shao Shan Temple on solstices and equinoxes.

Cemetery Central Pagoda
The new central pagoda has been installed in the Shao Shan Temple Cemetery! This 4 foot granite Rokkaku Yukumi - or "snow viewing lantern" holds the central position in the Cemetery's ceremonial oval. It was installed on September 5th and a "welcoming ceremony" was held on September 6th as part of the Thursday afternoon program.
This beautiful pagoda contributes to the dignity and peacefulness of the cemetery.
