The wind, the sun, the birds, the peepers, the flowers, Shao Shan Temple and all of you joined together on Saturday, May 10th to create a sweet Buddha's Birthday Celebration.
On Saturday, March 8th, the children at the Shao Shan Temple Family Program enjoyed "funny foods". They sampled unusual edibles from Japan - various seaweeds, daikon pickles and little chestnut cakes. They also created some food for others - birdseed covered pine cones were hung out in the pet cemetery for hungry birds & critters.
On January 26th, 2014 Dick and Hollie were married at Shao Shan Temple.
This unique ceremony included both Jewish and Buddhist elements. The joyous occasion was celebrated by a Temple full of Sangha members, family and friends who delighted at their happiness.
Last night we rang in the New Year at Shao Shan Temple with 108 bells. The evening also included meditation, refreshments, a time to review the past year, and an outdoor fire. This year we also chanted a rousing Heart Sutra accompanied by the large drum. Thanks to all who joined the occasion.
